Lauren,

A really good resource to use is the Music Library Association's
publication: "A Basic Music Library." And Music Library Service
Company (www.mlscmusic.com) has price lists from this publication on
their website. They break it down by library size and budget. They
also have a 'core collections' list. MLSC is an excellent vendor for
sound recordings. Their customer services reps are always very helpful.
