*Sandy McCarthy* will discuss her recently published article Health
Sciences Librarian Competency Perceptions: A Survey of National Community
College Librarians

Her research examines perceptions of librarian competencies with the
Medical Library Association. It was published in the *Journal of the
Medical Library Association*.



Sandy McCarthy is a full time faculty librarian at the Bailey Library,
Washtenaw Community College, in Washtenaw, Michigan, where she has worked
for over 20 years. Her education includes a BA in Political Science & Peace
& Conflict Studies, Wayne State University; MS in Library and Information
Science, Wayne State University; MA in Liberal Studies (concentration in
cultural studies), Wayne State University.  Sandy is the Past Chair of
CJCLS.



*Robin Brown *will discuss her recently published book, Seeking to
Understand: A Journey into Disability Studies & Libraries

The book is an affirmation to disabled library workers and a resource for
those who work with or supervise disabled library workers. The book was
co-written with Scott Sheidlower.


Robin Brown is head of public services at the Borough of Manhattan
Community College (CUNY) in New York, NY where she has worked for 11 years.
Robin’s education includes a BS in Foreign Service, Georgetown University;
MLS, Rutgers University; MA World History & History of Technology, Rutgers
University. Robin is the current chair of CJCLS.
