Against the Grain is seeking article proposals for an issue on the state of ebooks -- acquisition and the user experience -- in academic libraries. Has there been progress in the way we purchase ebooks and the way users engage with them in the past 10 years? Has the academic user experience kept up with the experience of the public library patron? In particular, we are looking for articles that explore the challenges and frustrations of ebook acquisition for academic libraries, the difficulty of choosing between ebooks and print, and ideas for how both ebook acquisition and the user experience could be improved. We are interested in hearing from both librarians and publishers. Please send proposals to David Gibbs, david.gibbs_at_csus.edu<mailto:david.gibbs_at_csus.edu>, by March 15, 2021.
