Hi Bobbi,

For books that have lower reading levels and are aimed at adults, we have found two publishers that we buy for our adult literacy and ESL collections. There isn't much available though, and I would love to see more. This seems to be a very under-supported market.

Orca (https://us.orcabook.com/) publishes books for a variety of age groups. Their Rapid Reads series has fiction and nonfiction at reading levels equivalent to grades 2-6 and adult interest levels.

Gemma Media (https://www.gemmamedia.org/) publishes books for adult and young adults.

Good luck!
  Fran

Subject: [collectiondev] Creating a collection for developmentally disabled adults

It has come to my attention that our collection is lacking in adult level materials that have lower reading levels or that meet the needs of developmentally disabled adults, including those with dyslexia or other reading challenges. I want to remedy this situation, yesterday if possible.

Can anyone recommend vendors, titles, search terms that I should be aware of as I delve into remedying this situation.
