Description:
The Instructional Technology Librarian (ITL) promotes instructional technology use and innovation in support of the teaching and learning needs of Kaufman Library students, faculty, and staff. The ITL will develop and deliver professional/technology-based training and support through face-to-face and online sessions, workshops, web-based tutorials, instructional media, and online training programs. This position provides virtual and face-to-face reference assistance The ITL reports to the Associate Dean of Library Services with dotted line reporting to Head of Research Services.

Essential Functions:
*         Lead the development of effective course-integrated instruction, including instructional design and the application of instructional technologies to enhance teaching and learning
*         Provide professional development, training, and support to Kaufman Library faculty and staff in instructional technology for use in both face-to-face, hybrid, and online course delivery models
*         Collaborate with administrators, faculty, and staff to further infuse information and digital literacy into the campus learning environment, including the development of classroom activities and online instructional tools using active, collaborative, and other appropriate learning activities
*         Provide library instruction sessions promoting and demonstrating research tools and transferrable information literacy skills
*         Design and conduct assessment of student learning and overall effectiveness of instructional services
*         Provide in-person and digital reference service
*         Participate in library-wide activities, administrative committees, special projects and library programs
*         Serve as a liaison to one or more campus areas
*         Represent Kaufman Library in campus-wide, regional, and national forums related to information literacy and instructional design
*         Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
*         ALA-accredited or Board of Regents-approved Master's Degree in Library or Information Science
*         Minimum two years of library instruction provision
*         Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with current and emerging educational technology and the ability to evaluate and  apply knowledge to the design and delivery of face-to-face and online instruction
*         Demonstrated commitment to serving the needs of library users, both on campus and remotely
*         Experience with developing and delivering professional development workshops and materials.
*         Experience with and ability to lead and manage projects
*         Ability to work cooperatively and flexibly with a variety of staff in a rapidly changing environment
*         Demonstrated experience in working independently and as part of a team
*         Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
*         Experience demonstrating organizational and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications:
*         Second Master's degree in instructional technology, instructional design, education or related field and two years of related experience OR equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.
*         Previous experience in higher education

Physical Requirements:
Position may require local travel. Ability to lift and carry files and materials. Ability to move from one office to another office on campus. Adequate vision, hearing and manual dexterity to interact with people in person, on the phone and in writing. Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations.
