We have received an inquiry from a faculty member in studio arts about the idea of hosting a VR art collection in the library. We are going to work on a pilot hosting student-created VR projects in our Digital Commons (BePress), but this is one of those questions that leads to more questions than answers.
How are other libraries out there managing this type of media? Have you found any VR creators/distributors who are prepared to work with libraries on institutional licensing? What kind of cataloging/metadata are you including? How do you connect them to access/equipment needed to view (Oculus, etc.)
Thanks for any advice you have to share!
