I would definitely place that in the “outrageous” category, especially if it doesn’t include PPR. If there were something especially valuable or unique about it, then maybe I could understand it, but I can’t think of what that might be.

Dear Colleagues,
We recently got a request from a faculty member to purchase a film
for $1000. and it was quoted as "educational pricing." I've never seen
pricing like that before. I think it was an additional $350 to add PPR.
Usually we see pricing around $350 - $695.
Has anyone else gotten a quote like this for a single film?
I'm just trying to figure out if we've been super lucky, or if the price
is as outrageous as it seems to me.
