poor binding

We got a book from Springer last year that has only circulated once. When it
was returned we noticed that the pages are coming out due to poor binding. Our
ACQ person contacted GOBI but said that they couldn't replace it for us.

What recourse do CollDv librarians have in these cases? This book was $150.
The binding was done with glue and the pages were just cracking out of it.
Terrible!
