The University of Northern Iowa's Rod Library seeks a collaborative,
visionary individual who is service oriented as its new Associate

faculty and staff. The Associate University Librarian, Content Discovery
reports to the Dean of Library Services.

This is a full-time tenure eligible administrative faculty position at the
rank of Associate Professor or Professor. The successful candidate's record
must demonstrate professional accomplishments which will warrant this
appointment. This position will be responsible for setting the vision and
strategic direction and providing leadership for the Content Discovery
Division; supervising and supporting unit coordinators, other faculty, and
professional & scientific staff in the division; fostering an environment
of collegiality, respect, trust, and teamwork that enables library faculty
and staff to contribute to the goals of the organization; monitoring and
evaluating trends and developments relevant to academic libraries in the
areas of collection development and assessment, digital scholarship,
electronic resource management, metadata development, and resource sharing;
building productive relationships with internal and external partners;
serving as a member of the library's Executive Management Team, sharing
responsibilities for decision making, resource management, strategic
direction, and policy development, and serving as a member of the Dean's
Advisory Group, a broader communication and discussion body for
library-wide initiatives and issues; and engaging in research, scholarship,
and creative work.

The Library is committed to supporting the University’s commitment to
student success, diversity and inclusion, campus vitality, and community
engagement, as outlined in its strategic plan. The library recently
completed a strategic planning and re-envisioning process that emphasizes
its integral role in student learning and success. It seeks to continue its
contributions to enhancing teaching, research and scholarship, and service
across the university.

UNI has a bold vision that we will be a diverse and inclusive campus
community that provides an engaged education empowering students to lead
locally and globally. We seek faculty across disciplines, departments, and
colleges to work together to build our national prominence in any of four
distinct but interrelated areas of our vision and strategic plan: engaged
learning, diversity and inclusion, sustainability, and community
engagement. Successful candidates with background and interest in these
areas will form clusters to advance our work, joining current faculty
conducting teaching, scholarship, and service in these areas.

ALA-accredited Master's degree in library or information science or
international equivalent required.

Required qualifications include increasing responsibilities in positions
relating to collection, technical, digital scholarship, or access services;
