Collection Development in Academic Libraries continues to undergo considerable change as fluctuations in budgets, changing information delivery formats, evolving business models, and shifting library priorities alter the collection development landscape. In some libraries, the organizational and operational structure of collection development itself has changed. Our panel will discuss recent changes in collection development staffing and processes, focusing on the new structure and whether these changes worked out, for the better, or for the worse? Panelists will also reflect on possible future structures for collection development in academic libraries.
Panelists include:
• Sarah McClung, Head of Collection Development, University of California, San Francisco
• Michael A. Arthur, Head, Resource Acquisition & Discovery, The University of Alabama
• Ana Guimarães, Director of Collection Development, Kennesaw State University
Where: Marriott Marquis, Georgetown University
When: Saturday, June 22
Time: 2:30 PM - 3:30 PM
