The D.U.C. provides free books on contemporary art to public institutions
of learning. All institutions that self-define as underserved are eligible
to participate. Our online catalog offers 415 different titles from over 65
publishers, covering a huge variety of artists and topics.

If you are a new participant, visit our guidelines to get started:

If you are an ongoing participant, we hope you will share this opportunity
by forwarding it to colleagues and friends.

This spring, we are particularly excited to highlight two titles in our
catalog, suggested by Abigail Donovan, a D.U.C. participant from the
University of Delaware:

Parallel Practices: Joan Jonas & Gina Pane
This title considers the works of two pioneers of performance art,
multi-disciplinary works, and feminist politics. Published alongside an
exhibition at the Contemporary Arts Museum Houston, it explores the
trajectory of these artists’ practices to reveal their complementary
aspects and significant divergences.

Tetsumi Kudo:Garden of Metamorphosis
This title by the Walker Art Center highlights Tetsumi Kudo's highly
original but under-studied practice. The artist worked in a range of media
and intersected with many important postwar artistic trends, elaborating a
uniquely transcultural, international, and cosmopolitan vision.
