Position description: The primary purpose of the position is to manage and execute all critical technical service functions, including but not limited to: acquisition, cataloging and catalog maintenance, electronic resources cataloging, invoice processing and budgeting. The position will also manage Collection Development and is responsible for the selection of all library materials in all formats; oversees collections maintenance in collaboration with library staff; plans, organizes, and supervises the departmental activities in an efficient manner so that the goals of the department and the library as a unit can be accomplished. The Technical Services/Collection Development Librarian also contributes to goal setting and long term planning and assists the Director of Library Services as needed.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Possess a MLS or MLIS from an ALA-accredited university with a minimum two years of professional librarian experience with Technical Services and Collection Development responsibilities.
Experience working with integrated library systems in a client/server environment.
Experience cataloging a variety of print and non-print formats in an online environment.
A minimum two years increasingly responsible relevant supervisory experience.
Experience using OCLC connexion software.
Demonstrated knowledge of cataloging standards, practices and products, including but not limited to RDA, AACR2, Library of Congress classification and subject heading schemes, Dewey decimal classification, Library of Congress Rule interpretations and MARC formats.
Familiarity with Integrated Library Systems (ILS) such as SirsiDynix Symphony interfaces including acquisitions and serials.
Commitment to enhancing public access to library resources.
Experience with Libguides and other content management systems.
Possess strong analytical and decision making skills with excellent interpersonal, organizational, oral and written communications skills.
Possess the ability to work accurately and with attention to detail; and define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
Possess the ability to work as a team player.
