The Collection Services Librarian at Calvin T. Ryan Library manages operations of Collection Development and Acquisitions. The Collection Services Librarian collaborates closely with the Archives/Special Collections unit and provides collection coherence to a working group of librarians responsible for collections including Government Documents, Curriculum, Electronic Resources and the Institutional Repository. The person in this position will offer a holistic perspective, leadership and expertise in refining and repositioning collections in the context of emerging trends to meet evolving needs of the university community. The person in this position manages Cataloging processes/related procedures and performs original cataloging. The Collection Services Librarian has a key role in representing UNK within the University of Nebraska Consortium of Libraries (UNCL), especially with regard to acquisitions and collections. This is a twelve-month, tenure-track faculty position reporting to the Dean of the Calvin T. Ryan Library.
