Hello, collective wisdom.
Libraries are increasingly asked to fund open access (OA) initiatives. This
often means repurposing traditional materials funds, and the
decision-making process can lead to more questions than answers.
We are conducting research on library service design methodology and open
access (and collection development in general) funding decisions. We
invite you to take part in a brief survey. Further details and
instructions are provided on the survey form. The purpose of the survey is
two-fold:
1. Based on the theoretical open access scenario and your responses to the
heuristic statements, would you support library funding of this open access
initiative?
2. Do you see value in using these heuristics to evaluate open access
funding decisions and/or collection development decisions in general?
You will have the opportunity to provide additional feedback on the survey
form. We will anonymize all responses and will use the results in line
with our presentation at the ER&L conference <http://sched.co/Crh8> in
March 2018.
