****please excuse cross posting**** Shut Up & Write! + Discussion and
Networking

*DESCRIPTION:* Do you have an article draft you need to work on? An outline
to refine? A book proposal to begin? Even a totally half-baked research
idea to flesh out on [real or virtual] paper? Okay, so answer this: are you
your own worst enemy when it comes to putting nose to the grindstone? This
event will include networking, timed writing, and discussion of a specific
topic (see below). *Bring a project to work on, or ideas to get started on.*

The discussion for this event will focus on tips, tools, and practices for
productivity in research and writing.

   - What do you do to get and stay focused?
   - What does it mean to build a coherent research or writing “practice”?

Please give these questions a bit of thought and come prepared to share and
discuss.

Refreshments will be served. WHEN: Wednesday, May 31, 2017, 5:30pm –
7:00pm

*WHERE:* Mina Rees Library, CUNY Graduate Center, 365 5th Ave, New York, NY
10016, Room C196.05 (Space is limited, so register early)
