Greetings –

A few years ago I wrote a review of a product that was then called Academic Charts Online. It was an online global compendium of sales charts for music in a wide variety of genres, designed to be used mainly for academic research. (Those interested can see my review at http://bit.ly/2bCVp1q)

I was subsequently invited to be an (unpaid) member of that publication’s advisory board, and the product has since changed its name to Music Industry Data (or Music ID for short). Academic Rights Press, the company that publishes Music ID and its companion Film ID, would be interested in any real-world examples of how this kind of data might be used by academic researchers. This isn’t so much about marketing as it is about product development and improvement. If anyone is interested in sharing case examples, please contact Roger Press at ARP with your insights and queries. His email address is roger@academicrightspress.com, and Music ID is described at http://www.academicrightspress.com/entertainment/music.
