Greetings!

We are seeking presenters to join our ALA Annual 2016 conference program "Collections at the Crossroads: Revising and re-envisioning the core subject collection".

:: Program :: Organized by the Resources for College Libraries editorial board (an ACRL Publications sub-committee), this panel program will explore the role of core subject collections in a rapidly-changing collection development environment and discuss how shifts in liaison roles, acquisitions models, and assessment trends impact using a core bibliography for academic library collections. Panelists will address current practices, historical benchmarks, and future trends in using subject collections to select, evaluate, and weed library holdings.

:: Speaker criteria :: The program planners are seeking presenters who can discuss using a core collection, particularly in combination with evidence-based, patron-driven, and/or consortial purchasing plans for collection development or assessment.

:: To be considered :: Submit a CV, together with a brief statement (100 words max) outlining how you would contribute to the program discussion and any relevant experience using a core collection (such as Resources for College Libraries) for collection development, to program planners Neal Baker (bakerne_at_earlham.edu<mailto:bakerne_at_earlham.edu>) and Anne Doherty (adoherty_at_ala-choice.org<mailto:adoherty_at_ala-choice.org>). Program planners will begin reviewing candidates *December 9th.*

:: Notes :: The program will take place during the ALA Annual Conference in Orlando, Florida (June 23-28, 2016); program date/time tbd. Speakers are responsible for all conference costs associated with travel/hotel/registration.

Please excuse cross-postings and do share with interested colleagues.
