TheUniversityofArkansasLibrariesseekapplicationsand nominations forthe 
position ofHead of Instructionand Liaison Services.  In 
anenvironmentwhereconstantchange andtransformationoccur, theHead of 
Instruction and Liaison Services works collaboratively with library 
staff that provide instruction and consultation services, collection 
development, and outreach to the campus research community.

The head leads a department of professional librarians and staff to 
support student learning through the development and assessment of 
focused instruction and consultation services throughout the 
curriculum.  The department consists of librarians for agriculture, 
business, education,engineering,geosciences, english, communication, 
socialand lifesciences,andmathematics.  In addition, the head provides 
collaborative leadership in liaison services for allcampus disciplines 
and extends partnerships with campus entities, including the 
Universitys Global Campus and Honors College.

Responsibilitiesofthis positionincluderesearch and creative workand 
servicein keepingwiththefacultyrequirements ofthe UniversityofArkansas. 
The successful candidate must have demonstrated a record of achievement 
sufficient for appointment at the rank of Librarian / Professor with 
tenure and should possess excellentinterpersonalskills 
encompassingtheabilityto workcollegiallyas a memberofa 
team;stronganalyticalandorganizationalskills;and excellentwritten and 
oralcommunicationskills. Adossierwillbe required forappointmentand hiring.

*Qualifications. Required:*  A mastersdegreefromanALA-accredited 
programand a minimumofseven yearsofexperience with researchand 
instruction programs. Demonstrated understandingof, and receptivenessto, 
the uses ofemergingtechnologies and instructional design principles.  
Demonstratedsuccesswith leading and managing people in a research 
environment. *Preferred:* Knowledge oftrendsand issuesin 
scholarlycommunications. Demonstrated experience with 
assessmenttoolsandstrategies.  Knowledge of collection development tools 
and methods.

*Rank and Salary:*  Tenured,twelve-month 
facultyappointmentattherankofLibrarian /Professor. Salary:$75,000.
