I do not consider the DDA ebooks to be a collection. We count the ones
we purchased as individual ebooks.
Thanks,

I am still trying to decipher some ipeds definitions. The one I am
least sure about is what to count as a database as opposed to an
e-journal package.

When it comes to e-books, this is my interpretation: If an e-book is
purchased via DDA, I intend to count it. If it comes with a database
like Knovel or Credo Reference, I will not count it, since we do not
select individual titles. Even though we do not actively select DDA
titles, we do set up the parameters, as you point out. Hence, there is
some selection involved.

We decided to count our purchased DDA as individual e-books since
selection was involved to the extent that titles were chosen/acquired
from a far greater pool of available titles; their downloads count as
circulation. We are also counting our STL downloads in e-book
circulation, but are not counting the titles as part of our resources.

At Kent State University we are reporting only the purchased DDA titles
as individual ebooks

Im choosing to look at the word purchased. So, with our DDA titles,
Im counting only the ones that have been triggered for purchase, and
not the discovery records that are sitting there waiting to be discovered.
