Advocating for Open Access by Critically Evaluating Scholarly Journals
From:
Kelsey Cheshire <kmcheshi_at_uncg.edu>
Dear Colldv-l list readers:
I am a graduate student currently enrolled in the LIS program at the
University of North Carolina at Greensboro. I invite you to participate
in my research study about critical journal evaluation in the Open
Access movement. This study seeks to better understand the advocate
efforts of academic librarians concerning open access and scholarly
journal evaluation. I am conducting this research as an independent
study during my final year in the program.
As an academic librarian, if you are involved in any open access
initiatives OR use critical journal evaluations, such as impact
measurements and journal rankings, I would like to invite you to
participate in my study. Your participation will entail completing an
online survey that is expected to take 10-15 minutes. The survey will
ask about your viewpoints concerning the open access movement and your
experience with quantitative journal evaluation. All data collected in
this study will be kept confidential. No unique identifiers will be
collected. Your participation is completely voluntary and if you elect
to participate, you may withdraw at any time.
If you wish to participate in this study, please follow the link below
to review the informed consent document and complete the survey:
