Collection Development Positions at USC.

The University of Southern California Libraries is seeking two
librarians in collection development.
*Collections Strategist Librarian (#312)*
The Collections Strategist will have wide responsibility for
participating in and helping to build the collections of the USC
Libraries. He/she will devise and implement strategies for collection
building and will leverage strategic collection building with the
innovative management of both existing collections and new managerial
models of modern academic research libraries. He/she will create and
implement innovative approaches to providing effective stewardship of
print and electronic collections and provides guidance and fund
oversight for the materials budget and the collection development work
of subject librarians. This newly-created position will report to the
Associate Dean for Collections.

*Collection Assessment Librarian (#313)*
The Collection Assessment Librarian's primary responsibility will be the
collection and evaluation of electronic resource usage statistics,
collection and maintenance of monographic and serial usage and holdings
information, and evaluation of other collections-related data. He/she
will work with librarians and staff throughout the Libraries to collect,
analyze, and report collections-related assessment data and to develop a
data-driven approach to achieving strategic collections objectives, in
order to provide the Libraries with a deeper understanding of user
behavior, requirements, and priorities.This newly-created position will
report to the Associate Dean for Collections.
