Call for Applications: The ACRL/NY 2014 Symposium Student Scholarship

Are you currently enrolled in a graduate degree program in
library/information science? Are you considering a career in academic
librarianship? Would you like to join a vibrant community of practice
with academic-library colleagues from the Greater New York Metropolitan
area? If yes, we encourage you to apply for one of four ACRL/NY
Symposium Student Scholarships offered by the Greater New York
Metropolitan Area Chapter of the Association of College and Research
Libraries.
The ACRL/NY Symposium Student Scholarship is a waiver of registration
fees for the organization's upcoming 2014 symposium, "The Academic
Librarian in the Open Access Future," to take place at Baruch College's
Vertical Campus on Friday, December 5, 2014. Featuring speakers, poster
sessions, small group discussions and networking opportunities, this
year's event will focus on the ways in which the open access movement
impacts academic librarians and the services they provide. Breakfast and
lunch at the event are included with the symposium scholarship.
Scholarship recipients are expected to attend the full-day symposium and
publish a short article on their impressions of the day in the ACRL/NY
newsletter /Connections/ <http://connections.acrlny.org/>.
*Application submission deadline: Friday, October 24, 2014*
Scholarship recipients will be notified on or before: Monday, November
17, 2014
