Collections Development and Outreach Librarian
Kemp Library, East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania is seeking a
Collection Development and Outreach Librarian to coordinate the collection
development and analysis activities of the library and perform, plan,
coordinate, and oversee outreach efforts, and actively participate in reference
and library instruction. This is a full time, continuing tenure track faculty
position and reports directly to the Library Dean. Positions typically fill at
the Instructor or Assistant Professor level, commensurate with experience and
training.
Responsibilities:
The Collection Development and Outreach Librarian coordinates the collection
development and analysis activities of the library; coordinates outreach efforts
with internal and external constituents; publicizes and promotes the library as
the intellectual center of the campus community through programming,
exhibitions, marketing, publications, and orientation; works regularly scheduled
hours at the Reference Desk (including some evening and weekend hours);
participates in the Library’s information literacy program; develops the library
collections in specifically assigned liaison areas; works collegially with East
Stroudsburg University Library staff and librarians; meets departmental and
university tenure and promotion standards for fulfillment of professional
responsibilities as a librarian, scholarly growth, and service. A full job

Required Qualifications:
Master’s of Library Science or equivalent from an ALA accredited program;
Knowledge, experience, and proficiency in collection development, outreach,
social media, reference services, and library instruction. The candidate should
also demonstrate potential for scholarly activities. Finalist must successfully
complete an on-campus interview and a teaching demonstration.
Preferred Qualifications:
At least two years of experience working in an academic library; Significant
recent experience and proficiency with current information technologies and
computer applications; Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal
communication skills; Demonstrated ability to work independently and collegially
in a changing environment; Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with a wide
range of print and electronic information resources; Work experience with
diverse populations.
