Lehigh University's Library and Technology Services seeks a proactive, 
user-centric and creative librarian for the position of Social 
Sciences/Scholarly Communications Librarian. The Librarian provides 
collection development, instruction and research services, including 
data management, for faculty and students in Lehigh's dynamic social 
science departments, and serves as an expert in federal and 
international government information. The Librarian seeks out new and 
emerging technologies and digital products required by social 
scientists, including streaming video, language learning, news, and 
geospatial information. As Scholarly Communications Librarian, the 
Librarian partners with faculty in experimenting with a broad range of 
digital scholarly publishing opportunities, provides guidance on 
scholars' rights, finds opportunities for digitization of Lehigh's 
collections in the social sciences, and facilitates the growth of social 
science scholarship in the campus repository. The Librarian also plays a 
coordinating role in developing services for international students and 
programs.

Qualifications: master's degree in library or information science or 
equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. CLIR 
postdoctoral fellowship); bachelor's degree in a social science 
discipline preferred; 3 to 5 years related work experience; demonstrated 
understanding of research processes in the social sciences; excellent 
communication and interpersonal skills.


*Salary: $50,000; *Lehigh University offers excellent benefits,
