CDL: Self-published books - collecting, review sources, etc.?

Self-publishing is a huge endeavor these days and libraries, especially 
academic libraries, are not well-positioned to collect self-published 
works without depending on trusted review sources.

If your academic library does collect self-published materials, how to 
you decide what to purchase? If you work at a Public Library, how does 
it work for you?

There are a number of review sources that cover self-published materials 
– do you use any of them and if so, which ones work best for you?

For example: Foreword Reviews, BlueInk Review, Kirkus Indies, Indie 
Reader, PW’s BookLife …
