Description
Scrapbooks can be challenging to preserve since they often contain a diversity
of materials.
In this webinar, participants will learn:
the common problems associated with long-term preservation of scrapbooks
how to identify problem materials in older scrapbooks and what to do about them
how to identify the most stable materials and bindings for creating new
scrapbook

Presenter
Melissa Tedone is the Conservator at Iowa State University Library. She began
her career in 1998 as a conservation technician, and received an MSIS and
Certificate of Advanced Study in Conservation of Library and Archival Materials
from UT Austin in 2009. She has worked in the conservation labs of the Beinecke
Library, the Lewis Walpole Library, and the University of Illinois
Urbana-Champaign. She is currently a member of the American Institute for
Conservation's Sustainability Committee.
