Theatre Library Association Book Awards

Have any of the faculty at your institution published monographs in film
or performing arts in 2013? Please forward the following information to
them and urge them to submit their work for this award.

Theatre Library Association Book Awards

Presented annually, the TLA Book Awards recognize performing arts
scholarship published during the previous calendar year that
demonstrates exemplary use and interpretation of library and archival
collections.

The two award categories are:

• The 2014 George Freedley Memorial Award, honoring books on the theatre
and live performance

• The 2014 Richard Wall Memorial Award, honoring books on film and
broadcasting

Full submission criteria can be found here:
http://www.tla-online.org/awards/bookawards/criteria.html.

The Awards

Winners of each award will be determined by a separate three-member
jury, and by the Awards Committee Co-Chairs.

$500 will be awarded to each of the winners.

Each jury may elect to award an additional Special Jury Prize.

Winners are announced and prizes awarded during the Theatre Library
Association fall gathering in New York City.

All winners, along with a listing of finalist titles, are featured on
the Association’s website
(http://www.tla-online.org/awards/bookawards.html).

Submission

The deadline for submission is February 28, 2014.

Early submissions are especially appreciated by jurors.

To submit a title for consideration, you should submit a total of FOUR
COPIES of each book nominated to Book Awards Co-chair Tiffany Nixon, c/o
Roundabout Theatre Company, 231 West 39th Street, New York, NY 10018.
