ALA Midwinter 2014 - Call for Proposals - Creative Ideas in Technical
Services Interest Group
From:
"Lynn Fields" <lfields_at_siue.edu>
The Creative Ideas in Technical Services Interest Group seeks discussion
moderators for table top discussions at the ALA Midwinter Meeting in
Philadelphia to explore the idea of the changing role of technical
services in libraries.
As libraries define new services, Technical Services staff members are
being asked to take on new roles and learn new skills. These new
opportunities call for creative solutions!
What new services is your library's Technical Services Department taking
on? How are you adapting to these changes? How are you acquiring the
skills you need to be successful?
If you're interested in discussing creative ways that Technical Services
Departments are building skills and implementing new services, submit a
discussion topic proposal to the Creative Ideas in Technical Services
Interest Group!
The fine print:
Discussion topics should focus on creativity and by submitting a topic,
you're agreeing to lead the discussion. The Creative Ideas in Technical
Services Interest Group meets on Sunday, January 26 from 3-4 p.m.
The deadline for proposals is Thursday, October 31st. Please submit
proposals to Lynnette Fields, Creative Ideas in Technical Services
Interest Group Chair, at lfields_at_siue.edu <mailto:lfields_at_siue.edu>.
