Lead Librarian for Acquisitions-

Appalachian State University (a member of the UNC System) is seeking a 
highly-motivated, proactive, and service-oriented individual for the 
position of Lead Librarian for Acquisitions. Working collaboratively 
with acquisitions, e-resources, collection management, and cataloging 
personnel, the successful candidate will be responsible for the 
coordination and management of the Library's acquisitions, including 
continuing resources (e-journals and databases). Responsibilities 
include: managing an acquisitions budget of over $3 million; managing 
acquisition of rare and special collections; supervising 4 - 6 
paraprofessional staff; negotiating price and access terms with vendors; 
and collaborating with network and consortial partners in purchase and 
license negotiation. The successful candidate will be able to extract 
data from multiple sources to produce reports for decision making and 
coordinate acquisitions projects and workflows with related groups. 
Effective communication and consensus-building skills in working with 
faculty, staff, and campus administrators are essential.  The position 
is in the Bibliographic Services team.
