Popular, best selling collections in academic libraries
From:

We want to provide popular fiction and non-fiction reading to our
college student population and are looking at the McNaughton Adult book
lease program. Does anyone know if there are other lease programs
available, or is McNaughton the only option?

Has anyone done this in house? In other words, are there academic
institutions which provide current popular titles to their patrons by
selecting and purchasing the titles without going through a library
vendor? How are these collections maintained if handled in house? Are
there limited numbers of titles selected? Is there a set amount
allotted to the collection, or a percentage of the total materials
funds? Are titles in such collections given full cataloging, or only
minimal cataloging and processing?

Thank you in advance for any help you can give!
