Colleagues --
The Publisher/Vendor Relations Discussion Group of the ACRL Science &
Technology Section invites you to attend:
*Platforms and Partnerships: Surveying the Academic e-Book Landscape
*Saturday June 29^th , 10:30 to 11:30 am
McCormick Place Convention Center, Room N137
Building academic e-book collections involves a level of complexity far
beyond anything experienced in the print environment. Gone are the days
when decisions about book purchases were limited to cloth vs paper
binding. We now have to consider factors such as publisher vs aggregator
platforms, pricing based on single vs multiple user options, subject
collections vs individual titles, subscription access vs outright
purchase, and our usage rights for course reserves and interlibrary loan.
Please join us for a timely discussion of how and why publishers and
vendors are joining forces to deliver e-book content to academic
libraries, and how differences between platforms and licenses impact our
collections and our users.
Panelists include:
*Matt Barnes*,**Vice President of Business Development and Marketing at
*ebrary*
*Bob Boissy*, Manager, Account Development and Strategic Alliances at
*Springer*
*Scott Wasinger*, Vice President of Sales, eBooks and Audiobooks at *EBSCO
Charles Withington*,**Vice President of North America Book Sales and
