*My research needs you!*

I am looking for librarians and publishing representatives willing to
talk with me for 45 minutes about their work and their perceptions of
the relationships and negotiations between publishers and libraries.

*Who am I?* M. Kathleen Kern, a librarian and PhD student at the
University of Illinois at Urbana.

*What is this about?* I am conducting a study of *library-publisher
relations* in the Scientific, Technical, and Medical (STM) information
marketplace. The aim of this research is to improve, or at least to
illuminate, the relations between publishers and libraries.

*When and where are the interviews?* I will be conducting interviews
during the* ACRL National Conference* 4/9-4/13
<x-apple-data-detectors://0> and the *STM Spring Conference* 4/30-5/3
<x-apple-data-detectors://1>, 2013. Interviews will take place at a
nearby hotel and will be one-on-one and confidential. Responses used in
my research will be anonymous.

*Who can participate?* You are eligible if you are:

  * An academic or research center librarian who works with purchasing
and negotiations with e-journal/e-resource publishers OR
  * An STM publishing sales representative or sales/customer relations
manager who works with purchasing and negotiations of e-journal
contracts with academic or research center libraries

*How do I set up an interview?* If you are interested in participating
in this study or learning more about my research, please contact me at

Best,
Kathleen
