A faculty member remarked that ebooks were like reading a book on microfilm.
It requires a device; he is looking at screen; every device (meaning vendor
interface here) was different like different microfilm readers, and requiring
too much fiddling; it is largely a linear and detached experience because he
can't put his finger in at p.38 and flip back and forth to p. 267 to compare
text; he would only deal with the ebook in one sitting and not go back to it
like he might return to a pbook, and thought ebooks are a long way from Project
Gutenberg text but not far enough yet.
