Hi,

Our library is exploring alternative methods of divvying collection
development responsibilities; can any of you share info on (or a link to
info on) how your collection development responsibilities are distributed?

For example, each librarian here collects for a few areas in which they
may or may not have subject specialty expertise, no one was hired as a
subject specialist. The librarian also serves as a "liaison" to the
academic department that corresponds (so to speak) to that area of the
collection. We consult the usual resources (bibliographies, reviews,
other faculty, circulation stats, course offerings/outlines, etc) in our
collection practices.

Does anyone out there use a rotation system? Or are there any other
interesting (different) models of sharing collection development
responsibilities that you know of?

Thank you in advance,
