Does anyone have experience ordering books for their collections from
on-demand publishers like Nabu or Kessinger.

I am looking to replace a lost copy of: The History of St. Lawrence and
Franklin Counties, New York, From the Earliest Period to the Present by
Frank Hough (1970 facsimile ed). The only copies that seem to be
available are either used or from an on-demand publisher. We have the
original 1853 edition in our special collections, but the facsimile
edition has had 60+ circulations, so it seems worth replacing the lost
book for our circulating collection. It is also available full text in
HathiTrust and Archives.org, but I'm thinking the use warrants a print
copy for our shelves.

I was just wondering if anyone has purchased any on-demand books, and
whether the paper, binding and printing quality is good enough for
library collections.

TIA,

Marianne
