*Introduction*
Trinity International University (TIU) is comprised of Trinity College,
Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, and the Trinity Graduate School
along with 2 regional centers and extension programs throughout the
Midwest (total student FTE of 2,124). The university is located about 22
miles north of Chicago. The James E. Rolfing Memorial Library contains a
circulating collection of 190,000 books, 770 journals, 70 databases, and
7,100 media. Rolfing has nine full-time library staff, seven of which
are professional librarians. TIU is affiliated with the Evangelical Free
Church of America. The successful candidate for this position must agree
with the university's mission, values, and statement of faith, which
will be sent to each applicant.
*Position Summary*
Coordinates the monograph collection for Rolfing library; leads liaison
meetings regarding selection and ordering of books and e-books; selects
interdisciplinary books/e-books for the library; performs original
cataloging for monographs and responds to cataloging questions; promotes
the monograph collection through displays and/or special events; hires,
trains, and supervises part-time employees; processes library invoices;
organizes, publicizes, and hosts annual book sale; pursues professional
development. This position reports to the Head of Technical Services. It
is a full-time, 12 month, exempt, non-faculty position.
*Qualifications*
An ALA-accredited MLS or equivalent degree. At least two years of
experience working in an academic library. Previous experience with OCLC
and an integrated library system. At least one year experience with
cataloging monographs. Familiar with using MARC and applying AACR2
standards. Adept problem solver. Exemplifies healthy balance of accurate
and efficient work. Excellent communication skills. Works well both
independently and as a team member. Able to effectively supervise
part-time workers. Values forward thinking, integrity, flexibility, and
experimenting with technology. Enthusiastic about contributing to a
creative, productive department. Actively seeks opportunities to grow
and mature in the library profession. A personal commitment to Christian
higher education is essential. Preferred Qualifications:**Experience
with Ex Libris' Voyager ILS software. Experience ordering monographs.
*Salary & Benefits*
$37,500 annually. Full-time employee benefits including health, dental,
