{Apologies for cross-list duplication.}

Hi folks,

As part of our strategic plan, the Hunter Library Content Organization &
Management (COM) Department (the Department Formerly Known as Technical
Services) is going to take time this summer to document all of our
various processes and procedures. The state of the budget in NC has us
planning for the unpleasant possibility of not being able to fill empty
positions; we want to be prepared.

We've consulted with the university's Writing Center about style guides
and templates. One suggestion she had was to get samples of similar work
from colleagues. So -- does anyone have documentation for tech
services-type procedures (e.g. preparing journals for the bindery,
ordering a replacement for a lost book, withdrawing discarded books,
etc.)? It might be a link to an online manual, or a PDF of a page or
two from a printed manual -- whatever you've got and are willing to
share. We're especially interested in hearing from Millennium libraries.

Thanks much!

Katy G.
