Best Oversize Shelving

Hello, Colleagues,
       What is the best shelving for oversize books -- (quarto and folio) for public 
libraries?  We are looking at different types of shelving both wooden and steel case 
shelving.  I am trying to avoid small screws, sharp edges, and light gauge steel.  I am 
looking for fairly deep shelves that are double sided.
