Upcoming Mid-South E-Resources Symposium and Emerging Technologies Summit

Registration is still open for the Mid-South E-Resources Symposium and Emerging
Technologies Summit being held at Mississippi State University in Starkville, MS
on September 16 and 17, 2010. Both of these daylong conferences present a
valuable local professional development opportunity for anyone involved in
developing, maintaining, and assessing a library's electronic and technological
resources.

The Mid-South E-Resources Symposium's keynote speaker is Ross Housewright, from
Ithaka S+R, who will be speaking about Ithaka's Faculty Surveys. Additional
topics to be presented at the Symposium include eResource workflows, the
evolving role of ebooks, and how to measure and communicate library resources to
patrons. Click here (http://library.msstate.edu/eresource/schedule.asp) to see
the full schedule

The Emerging Technologies Summit features keynote speaker Jason Griffey
(http://tinyurl.com/23dojb2) who will address the "information tsunami" that
libraries now find themselves engulfed in and how we will survive it. Sessions
will cover topics such as privacy, instruction, reference, web design, and
mobile applications. Click here (http://tinyurl.com/2fuz4qb) to see a full
listing of sessions.

You can register for either conference separately or combine both registrations
for a discounted fee. See http://library.msstate.edu/tickets/ for more
information on how to register. Hurry! Registration ends September 10th.
