Dear Colleagues, FYI, here is our agenda for ALA. Guests are totally invited to this
meeting and we gladly welcome you in our discussions.
Ann Okerson/Chair - ACLTS/CMDS Chief Collections Development Officers
*****************
CCDO Colleagues: We will meet at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 26th, at the Hyatt - Regency
A Room.
Various colleagues have proposed topics, and I'm hoping these individuals will also be
willing to launch the discussion. The items may shift in order, depending on individual
scheduling needs. Up to 20 minutes is allocated for each item.
1. Judy Mansfield (LC) - Presentation and discussion about the Library of Congress's
survey of International Exchange Service Partners.
2. Ivy Anderson (CDL) - Author's Rights clauses in license agreements.
3. Ann Okerson (Yale) - How and where are which aspects of licensing negotiations and
agreements handled in your library, and does it work? Who has negotiating authority?
Signing authority? How did they get it?
4. Steven Bosch (Arizona) - Patron-driven Acquisitions; who's doing it, modes, successes,
cautions.
5. Martha Brogan (Penn) & Patricia Feeney (CrossRef) - Critical Mass & Digital Journal
archiving initiatives.
6. Ivy Anderson (CDL) Nature Negotiations. Ivy will provide some information about the
Nature-UC dispute. Let's also use this as a time to share stores about our own attempts
to "just say no" to package deals.
7. And the usual - news, notes, highlights, lowlights, budget strategies, etc.
See you soon, Ann Okerson
