RUSA Midwinter Social
Friday, January 15, 2010
5:30pm-7:30pm
Omni Parker House, Rooftop Ballroom

Kick off the 2010 ALA Midwinter Meeting at the RUSA Membership Social—an opportunity to
eat, drink, network, and learn more about RUSA – including our CODES section (Collection
Development and Evaluation), which is the place for reference/user services librarians and
staff from all types of libraries to discuss the rapidly changing landscape of collection
development, readers’ advisory, and publishing.

All are invited to this event, which will be held from on Friday, Jan. 15, 2010, from 5:30
to 7:30 p.m. in the Rooftop Ballroom at the Omni Parker House, 60 School Street, Boston.

Appetizers and drinks will be available, and RSVPs are not required. The social is one of
many RUSA activities at the Midwinter Meeting in Boston, and is open to all current RUSA
members, friends of RUSA, and those meeting attendees interested in learning more about
the association and networking with peers. RUSA leadership and longtime members will be on
hand to answer questions about ways to get involved with the division.

The Omni Parker House is conveniently located within walking distance of the Government
Center, State Street, Park Street and Downtown Crossing “T” stations—full transit
schedules are available at the MBTA website. The event is generously sponsored by Thomson
Reuters.

The Reference and User Services Association, a division of the American Library
Association, represents librarians and library staff in the fields of reference,
specialized reference, collection development, readers advisory and resource sharing. RUSA
is the foremost organization of reference and information professionals who make the
connections between people and the information sources, services, and collection materials
they need. Not a member, but interested in discounted registration rates on conference,
preconferences and other events? Join, renew or add RUSA to your ALA membership at
www.ala.org/membership. Learn more about the association at www.ala.org/rusa.
