Our policy thus far has been to restrict library DVD purchases to Region 1 format only.
This obviously hinders those faculty who teach classes with significant film components
and want to include on their syllabi some foreign films that are not available in Region 1
format.
I would appreciate knowing other libraries' current policies on acquiring non-Region 1 DVDs.
And for anyone who does collect non-Region 1 DVDs, any information about how you make the
items accessible and playable in the library or on campus would be helpful.
If you will respond to me directly, <hendrixd_at_southwestern.edu> .
I will summarize for the list.
Thanks,
Dana
