I am writing for the consumption of the publishers who
read Colldv-l. There are a few publishers who blizzard
me and nearly every librarian here including the directors
with catalogs every month. A few media publishers
are the most incessant mailers, but there are others
as well. If you can't target your mailings, don't
send them. Because of the lack of specificity of
topics sent to me, I recycle on-sight any mailing
from several publishers. Never open them. I hate the
waste and the annoyance. Send me mailings in my
topics and I'll be happy to consider them.
Don't get me started on publisher email spam. Filter,
filter, filter....
-the poster requested anonymity to keep from getting
even more mail.
