Is there an unabridged dictionary worthy of putting on the library
dictionary stand? Webster's 3rd is the historic standard, but is
little changed from the 1960s. The landscape seems to be:
New Oxford American Dictionary, 2nd (2005)
American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language, 4th (2006)
I have ordered one of each to examine, but wonder if I am
missing one or if there are opinions about these or
other unabridged dictionaries.
Thanks, John
