Wichita State University Libraries seek a service oriented librarian with
knowledge of electronic resources management. Responsible for providing
integrated access to electronic resources including population and
maintenance of a new electronic resources management system and link
resolver; processing of orders, renewals, cancellations and licenses;
vendor liaison contact for business matters and technical issues; and
collection and analysis of statistical data related to resource use. Must
work collaboratively with library units including Collection Development,
Acquisitions, Cataloging/Metadata and other personnel. Supervises .5 FTE.
The position reports to the Assistant Dean of Technical Services.
Required Qualifications: ALA accredited masterā€™s degree; ability to work
in the United States; experience in a library or information management
setting with electronic resources or access technologies; knowledge of
trends in electronic resource access; excellent oral and written
communication skills; ability to work successfully in a dynamic collegial
environment with diverse populations; and demonstrated potential for
meeting the Librariesā€™ tenure and promotion requirements.
Preferred Qualifications: Understanding of the principles of link
resolvers; experience reviewing license agreements and shared electronic
resource understanding agreements; experience with statistical analysis;
demonstrated problem solving skills; previous serials or acquisitions
experience in an academic library; additional graduate degree.
Salary and Benefits: Starting minimum salary of 40,000 for a 12 month
contract; professional development support, vacation and benefits including
TIAA-CREF. Librarians are tenure-track appointees.
