The Yearbook of Agriculture was officially retired with the 1993
edition. Per the then Secretary of Agriculture, Mike Espy, from the
foreword of the book: “As an institution, the agriculture yearbooks of the
past century have served their original purpose. Yearbooks have
disseminated information about agriculture (in the most comprehensive sense
of the word) to the people of the United States, with a special focus on
farmers. Now, a single volume is no longer adequate to meet the original
mission of the Yearbook of Agriculture. Nor it is a cost-effective means
of disseminating information in our fast-changing, multimedia world. We
agreed with the U.S. Congress that the time had come to retire the Yearbook
of Agriculture series.”

There is no version of this publication under a different title published
by USDA.

The Yearbook of Agriculture stopped publication in 1993.

Is there another version out there? Depends on what you are looking for. If
you are looking from USDA -- any format?

A good place to look in multiple format is the US Govt Printing Office’s
Catalog of U.S. Government Publications (CGP)

If you need suggestions – I would also contact your nearest regional
Federal Depository Library – Texas Tech.

See:

If you are looking for a privately produced source – I’m not familiar with
one that works with those highly collectible Yearbooks!

The Yearbook of Agriculture published by the Department of Agriculture was
discontinued some years ago as far as I can tell. Does anyone know if
there’s a version of this publication under a different title out there
anywhere?

Thanks!
