Pennsylvania's PALCI consortium is considering the development of a shared
"virtual" repository in which participant schools agree to retain print
runs of selected periodicals in their own facilities. One copy (or maybe
two) of each print periodical would be retained within the consortium. At
this point, we are looking only at journals that have deep print archives,
such as those offered through JSTOR, AIP, APS, ACS and APA. We are
interested in knowing about the experiences of other groups that have
created or considered a similar arrangement.
Thanks so much,
Christine
