We are currently researching a book scanner that will scan bound volumes
and came across the OptiBook 3600
(<http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,1895,1738869,00.asp>http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,1895,1738869,00.asp)

We have also looked at pricier vertical book scanners – Minolta for $9,600.

Our goal is to scan, OCR and index the bound volumes for keyword
searching. Most of the materials are early 1900’s, use European fonts and
the paper may be odd-sized.

Does anyone have experience with these types of
scanners? Recommendations? Suggestions?
