The Library has the following position available:

            Head of Collection Development  

The University of Texas at San Antonio Library is seeking a dynamic, 
energetic, user oriented librarian to provide leadership, 
organization, and management skills as Head of Collection 
Development.  This position is responsible for the effective 
administration of the Library’s collection development program and 
reports to the Assistant Dean, Collections.  Establishes goals and 
work plans for Collection Development to meet Library and 
institutional objectives.  Responsible for coordinating the selection 
of all materials added to the Library’s collections.  Coordinates 
activities of library bibliographers to provide outreach and liaison 
with academic divisions.  
 
Qualifications:  Required – MLS/MLIS from an ALA accredited program.  
Five years of successful and increasingly responsible professional 
experience in collection management and development in an academic 
library setting.  Demonstrated successful management and supervisory 
experience.  Preferred – Advanced degree in bibliographic area of 
specialization.  Excellent grounding in technical and public service 
issues which affect collection development.  Salary:  Commensurate 
with qualifications, $50,000 minimum for a 12-month appointment plus 
benefits package.
