The Boise State University Libraries seek an innovative and
dynamic librarian for the position of Head of Public Services.
This senior administrative position is responsible for public
services areas within the Library, including Reference,
Instructional Services, Circulation, Maps, Government Information,
and the Curriculum Resource Center. The successful candidate
will provide leadership for the development, implementation,
promotion and assessment of evolving library services. As a
member of the Library Administrative Council, this position plays
a crucial role in library-wide planning, budgeting, and
policy setting. Participates in University governance and
service and engages in ongoing professional development.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
• Master's degree from an ALA-accredited program;
• Minimum 5 years professional library experience;
• Extensive experience with reference, instruction, circulation or 	 
other public services;
• Demonstrated commitment to service excellence;
• Experience effectively managing and supervising others.
• Demonstrated commitment and a record of promoting diversity and 	 
equal opportunity in the workplace;
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
• proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively in 
a 		complex changing environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Knowledge of and experience with web design issues and web 
services 		applications;
• Facility in a language other than English;
• Second master's degree;
• Experience in an academic library.

Salary: commensurate with experience and qualifications. This is
a full-time, 12-month, tenure-track position with faculty status
and academic rank. Appointment will be at the rank of Assistant
or Associate professor, based on qualifications.
